Located south of Washington St., downtown, A Thyme for All Seasons and its owner Mr. Siwiec are working non stop for your business.
Sitting down to grab a bite and an interview I learned more about the restaurant and hotspot for students to eat lunch. Eating lunch was as usual a very exciting endeavor. I ordered a turkey sandwich and fries for five dollars, no tax. The food came out of the kitchen in five minutes and it was off to the races. Bite of the sandwich, bite of the fries, bite of the sandwich, another fry. The sandwich was decorated with two white bread slices, a few thick turkey pieces, tomato, lettuce, and mayonnaise. The meal comes with crispy brown french fries and a drink.
The restaurant itself is full of friendly employees who work together well and treat customers old and young with respect. The restaurant has numerous decorations that are country and old fashioned in nature, matching the nearly 100+ plus year old building it is located in. There is plentiful seating and spaces to enjoy yourself and your group of friends.
Siwiec met with me after finishing a hard day’s work of serving Toms River’s best students. Siwiec went to high school in Bayonne, in North Jersey and made it out to Las Vegas. That is where A Thyme for All Seasons started its journey. About twenty years ago A Thyme for All Seasons started in a Vegas bar and grew in popularity to the point where it was a large-scale catering company that served people such as political figures and even Mike Tyson.
In 2015, A Thyme for All Seasons opened its doors in Downtown Toms River after Siwiec moved back to New Jersey.
“I make everything fresh, I don’t buy anything. I make the chicken fingers, I make the burgers, I make the cheese sauce, I make everything. We are the only people that know every kid’s names, we like to be friendly with them, we like to make special desserts for them, anything we can to make kids feel like they belong here, ” said Siwiec explaining why South students should visit his establishment. “I always try to make them something that they like, thats why I named a few sandwiches after a couple of kids that were here. The Joe is on there, Garrett is on there.”
Siweic personally recommends “The Joe. "
"The Joe is the go to sandwich," said Siweic, "Its basically like a chicken parm-grilled cheese. So everybody the Joe, the Joe, the Joe.”
According to Siwiec, A Thyme For All Seasons leaves the menu alone at the beginning of the school year, but offers things like slashed prices on Fridays and Taco Tuesdays. A Thyme for All Seasons is open for you five days a week.
